A great question for us all to ask and ponder about is this one about online music payments and subscriptions. Does the music industry really expect to see the online subscriptions or number of downloads from iTunes to increase in these dark economic times? There are so many other things that the average daily consumer is spending money on just to survive.
It seems that with so many people continuously losing their job as shown via unemployment numbers on the rise, that buying music online may be put in the luxury category.
Rather than buy music, many may just listen to live streaming radio online at places like Pandora and Lala. When the going gets real tough, it may be easier to see oneself just listening to what they already have or just flipping the radio on. The statistics will be interesting to see as the online world unfolds.
